On July 12, 2009, a celebration of the first water supply project in deprived areas of Herat city was inaugurated by the participation of Herat deputy governor,  Mr. Aldo Magazzeni ( project fund giving), Mrs. Suraya Pakzad (Head of Voice of Women), Water supply staff and  residents of (Now-Abad, Ghonda Yazdah, ShaikhMaroof).

Eng. Zowran head of Herat Water Supply Department said: about 2000 families benefited by this project which costs 24000 USD, installing 5500 meters of piping, assisted by Mr. Aldo Magazzeni who is a benevolent person from the United States of America. He also expressed his gratitude for his continual assistance. It should be mentioned that Mr. Aldo had assisted the amount of 20000 USD for replacement of 3000 meters of an old water supply network in Shalbafan 7th district of Herat city in 2008. Also in the year 2005 the extension of a  water supply network from Mostowfeit Street up to the Female jail of Herat city was done which cost 17000 USD covering the Male and Female jails, the Goharshad High school and the complex of Herat governor office as well.

Besides, Mr. Aldo has assisted the amount of 3000 USD to build two water extensions to two women’s restaurants in order to create a profession for widows in this on going year. This program was done in partnership with Suraya Pakzad of Voice of Women Organization.

Head of water supply department added: these assistances are often attracted by cooperation of Mrs. Suraya Pakzad and Mr. Aldo Magazzeni.

It should also be said that, governor of Herat, Water Supply Department and the community of the above mentioned areas express their sincere gratitude for this assistance and hoping for continuation of further assistance.
